I'm sure it is not news that LaBree Motorsports and Greg Dupree have parted ways. LaBree Motorsports has been trying to conduct business and take care of the public without lies and name calling. Now we need to clarify lies that are being spread about us, such as that we use inferior products. Our products are excellent in quality and workmanship. We have experienced problems getting sufficient mufflers from our Sebring supplier to meet our customer's demands. A few weeks ago we received some mufflers from Sebring which were defective and we returned them. Currently we are out of 3 inch mufflers and our Sebring supplier does not have any more in stock. We were told by Sebring, who also sells to Fast Intentions, that they had some mufflers which they did not need, so Sebring would sell us those mufflers if we picked them up at Fast Intentions. So we picked them up at Fast Intentions and upon returning to our shop and looking at them, they turned out to be the same defective mufflers we had previously rejected. It appears we were set up, since Greg Dupree happened to be at Fast Intentions when we picked up the mufflers, and he immediately posted that we were selling an inferior product, which is not true. We again returned those efective mufflers to Sebring and had to inform three stomers that we still do not have any mufflers. So it seems the competition is getting a little desperate. We made exhaust products for Greg Dupree for about 7 years; these products were designed by us and most were fitted on our own Z. In all fairness, Greg on occasion would have some input or opinions; sometimes I would agree, however sometimes his ideas went against the theory of exhaust, whether super charged, turbo charged or NA. I have been working with exhaust systems years before Greg was even born. When I first started building down pipes, I was in fact a one man shop. The down pipes were at first quite crude. But they did improve with time as they were perfected. Greg came to me with an HKS flange, which has two holes; one turbine and one waste gate, and he wanted one tube, not two, to make it an open-mouth down pipe. My response was that it should be split if it has two holes. His response was that everyone makes it an open mouth, it will be okay and no one will know. I did what he asked. Then I discussed with him about splitting the four bolt and five bolt in the future and he said no, not necessary. So I took it upon myself to pursue this. I was ready for production about the same time that Greg decided to have his friend make them for less money. So I decided to market them myself for a fair price. Greg came to my shop and told me that I was selling them too cheap and it was going to hurt his business. So, to keep peace, I agreed to sell only to him, if he told the public that all exhaust components were made by LaBree Motorsports. As far as three inch exhaust, people have been told by Greg for years that three inch wasn't necessary for the Z. But as I told him years ago, if it is a Ford or Chevy with 400 plus horsepower to the ground, it should have a three inch exhaust; then a Z with 400 plus horsepower should have a three inch exhaust especially because it is turbo charged. His main issue has always been to keep it quiet no matter how much you restrict the exhaust. My new ultimate down pipes are a direct result of Greg saying, no, that won't work, about three years ago. Guess what, they work. The three inch mufflers that I originally worked on with Sebring have LaBree Motorsports logo on them and they are built properly, three inches all the way. Greg Dupree is a very good Z mechanic, he has worked on my Z in the past. However, he still works out of a garage in his Mom's back yard with virtually no overhead, so he should be selling to the public a lot cheaper, but he wants to make as much money as fast as possible so he can move his family to Oregon and retire. LaBree Motorsports always sells at the fairest possible price. Whether you buy from us or Greg Dupree is up to you, but enough with the lying and name calling. We will continue to build and improve our product, and stand behind it. If anyone has a product that came from LaBree Motorsports and is not happy, please contact me and I will make it right. My doors are open to anyone to come see what we do and how we do it. If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to call or E Mail me and I will be happy to spend as much time as necessary to help you or answer questions. I am always looking for the better way to build a mouse trap, why, because I love what I do. I have a virtually stock Z that puts out about 360 rear wheel horsepower, not 2 Z's with over 500 rear wheel horse power and a Ferrari. I have a 24 foot fifth wheel, not a 35 foot motor home. I pull my fifth wheel with a '97 Ford pickup and my wife drives a 2000 explorer. Which means that the majority of our profit goes back into research and development and lots of Dyno time. So you figure out who will do anything for money. I'm always looking for the better way to build that mouse trap.
